A school visit

On January 29th 2014, Ms. Anjaly Mohan, Mrs. Arathy Rohit and Ms. Tinky Emily Terrance of Amrita vishwa vidhyapeetham MSW department conducted a school visit to Shanmukha Vilasam Higher Secondary School, Thottathilmukku, Clappana, Kollam as part of their Field work training under the Supervision of Mr. Nisanth M Pillai [Faculty, MSW Department, Amritapuri].

As per the information regarding the high alcoholic and drug consumption among the students of SVHSS, the Field work trainees of PHC, Vallikavu organised an interactive awareness programme for the higher secondary students.After getting the permission from the Institution head, the field work trainees of Amrita Vishwavidyapeetham got allotted with the classes. The whole students got divided into groups and asked them to discuss upon any “Contemporary Social Issue”.One from each group presented their topic and shared their experiences too. Students covered topics like: Alcoholism, Drug abuse, Smoking, Pollution, Corruption, Misuse of Internet etc.They all did have a good idea about the problems indicated and they also advised others to not to consume these illicits or not to have such bad habits.At last the Fieldwork trainees indentified the real problem and the need for further clarification session and expert talks on those issues they pointed out.

In your report you are saying that “As per the information regarding the high alcoholic and drug consumption among the students of SVHSS”. the platform in which this is shared is public and i do feel that while making claims like this we should be a little sensitive too. I din’t want to comment on this on the webpage fearing of any further discussion on it. I would like to humbly request you to edit the sentence or put it in an appropriate way.
